係時候同香港講聲⋯⋯再見

When asked me 3 years ago about getting a pug, I would said never. I never really like flat nose dog. But then Dad wanted a pug pretty badly so I go with the flow. *Another lesson learned! Parents do know best. I grew to love Ah Dat in everything he does. He never seems to run out of ways to make a fool of himself and just fill me up with alot of happiness! But for both his and my own good (in feeling guilty not able to take care of him), it's going to be much better if Ah Dat moves to Toronto where he will be spoiled in a whole new level!

As of Wednesday, May 2nd. Ah Dat will become the Toronto pug!

Bye and kisses from Ah Dat – The Hong Kong pug

Dschinghis Khan

If you been on the internet and watching random video, I'm sure you would have come across the German disco band – Dschinghis Khan's Moskau. The video is awesome!!! and does the typical stereotype disco dance moves. Those old school dance and awesome campy outfits are amazing! Crazy amazing!

Their songs reminds me of Boney M though. I think it could be because of the song Rasputin. It's really similar to Moskau. The Russian sounds perhaps? On wiki, it seems that the bands does moves on even though two of the members of the original band passed away. But then, they did entertain and in a way, they are making a sort of a comeback as a cult thing on the internet.

Let's all Moskau! Moskau!

用心聽:告訴星辰間的居住者 (Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft)

I really like the music of The Carpenters. Karen's voice makes me very comfortable and relax, and Richard's arranging skill is very precise (seem like a math formula to some). But with the music they are making and Karen's soft voice, I think it fits perfectly. Even though I like them alot, I never have one of their CD except the "Best of". Maybe because I'm just too cheap to buy the album when basically all their songs are on their numberous "Best of" CDs. However, I will get "Now and then" (pictured) when I'm back in Canada. hee hee.

The main reason is because of the awesome cover. I think this is one of the best album cover I ever seen. It just so different sort of like a snap shot but you know it isn't. The background, colors, everything, just reflect the time era so nicely. It also reminded me of my first home in Toronto when I was 8.

The song: "Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft" originally done by Klaatu (Canadian!) are one of my favourite song sing by The Carpenters. I like how this is breaking the usual Richard's arrangements and yet, it still have that Carpenters signature. My favourite song? It will be a tie between "I need to be in love" and "Solitaire". Such sad songs.

※ "Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft" is featured in The Carpenters' "Passage" album.

Music to buy and others

Getting close to my Toronto trip and things have been busy both in work and in my personal life. Mainly because getting my son (Ah Dat 阿達) ready for the flight and the trips to the vet have taken a big toll on my wallet. But then it's for a good reassurance and that's something I need right now.

On the light side of things, I'm building up a list of things I have to buy in Toronto. (Yes, actually there are things that I can't get in HK whereas I can get in T.O.) Mainly is because HK's range of music is quite limited – OR I just don't know where to look. A colleague of mine told me of a place which I haven't explore yet, will so do when I have some time off. Right now, the new Feist CD is out!!! OH YEAH!!! I'm sure most of you know who she is, if you don't, please remind yourself of that awesome song in Lacoste's ad. The song that sings "Helping the kids out of their coats. Oh wait the babies haven't been born oh~~ oh oh oh oh oh~" : Mushaboom.

I'm sure I can get it in HK, but then I'll be heading back to T.O. soon so I might as well get it then. Another CD is Joan Osborne's Relish. I hate myself for not getting this CD when it was released 1995, so yes, I've been hating myself for more than 10 years for this. Check her out if you haven't done so, but then how would you not know?

Now I just need to think hard to see what else to get. Maybe some vintage tees from Queen St. and hopefully a pair of nice demin at "Over the rainbow" on Yorkville. BUT, it was so hot then (When I was still in college), but now after I'm in HK, the brands they carry don't seems to be so chic anymore... but there are always hope.

Oh, and magazine! I will get tonnes of magazines!!! OH YEA!

Mixture of Chinese and English

Writing in Chinese is alot harder than I thought since I haven't use Chinese for ages. It doesn't really express what I wanted (though my English pretty suck too.) So from now on, I think I will start writing back in English (with a mix of Chinese) so that it feels more like me instead of Yahoo dictionary's translation.

中文比我想像中難,加上表達不到,所以又要寫返英文。對不起!!!
