Liu Xiang unfortunately had to pull out from the race due to injury. I was disappointed cause had been waiting for 4 years to watch this race (well, today's just qualifying but still...). I feel upset just WAITING for 4 years so there's no way I can understand how disappointed he is to not even able to run in qualifying after training and competiting so hard for 4 years.

Don't give up!!!! I super support!

My so-called life

Lately, I've been spending some time watching an old TV-series call "My so-called life". I remember seeing it back when I was in High School. It was like so related back then. I wonder how relevant it is now to the current hig schoolers. For one thing, I know that asking quarter for phone call is not gonna happen in this day of age.

要作者 • Writers needed

Well, actually anyone who wanted to write. I'm trying to do a project of combining random stories in a print form for public to see. I still need to work out a cost and hopefully I will have enough to do it. ^_^

Things had been pretty normal (I don't mind) now a day, so I can start working on this project and make myself proud. If you have anything (around 500-1200 words) that you don't mind sharing to random people for free, please send them to me! In this digital age, I feel that print is underrated a little. hehehe. But don't get me wrong. I love digital stuffs also.

Just go to my profile and contact me via the "Email". Thanks~

Kelly Chan in Hong Kong's Torch relay

Kelly Chan in Hong Kong's Torch relay
Originally uploaded by hwh222.

Today is the Beijing's Olympics's torch relay in Hong Kong. Kelly was one of the many runners (many of which I don't know why is on the list). Personally, I think Kelly only barely qualify for it but she does have a positive image and won some award about setting good example to teens.

There are many many negative news about this Olympics, and my view maybe different than others. I enjoyed the Olympics ever since I'm a kid because of good sportmanships, people's goals being reach through hard works, and showcasing what human can do.

I support Beijing's Olympics. ^_^

SiCKO

Just saw this documentary. I know that the US don't have an universal health care but it seems very scary when I'm was watching it. It just like even for people with health plan, there are still no service. So why need a health plan anyway? But I always find insurance companies evil. It seems that everything is covered until you need to ask the insurance company to pay for things. Then everything is not covered...

To be honest though, our house was robbed once, and we sort of get something back from the insurance company. I think like 30% of what we lost? Anyway, I highly recommend people to watch this. But take it with a grain of salt though. When watching these sort of film/news, I feel that they never really tell you the whole picture. There's always a little propaganda and their own view.

風與生命 : Typhoon and life

Many things come by so fast all of a sudden. It's things that I can't really control and thinking/worrying about it won't do any good. So I just try to ignore them, but it's very hard to do. Now they are passed and we hope it won't come back EVER.

It's sort of like a typhoon, so rough and comes in really fast and even though you are prepared for it, you really don't know how it will be when the storm hits. Well, we made by untouched and relieved. And it just like a typhoon, after it's gone, comes the most beautiful day. And I'm living under that day now.

用心聽:Yelle — Pop-up

Haven't done a music topic for awhile mainly because after Amy Winehouse, I haven't really touch on anyone that's make me really excited. (I don't much about music but I know what makes me happy :-D kekeke). I like Adele's "Chasing pavement" which's lyric is awesome and also Gary Jules's "Mad world" which I saw in Youtube with that kiwi dying for his dream. Sad but bring a positive message.

Then, there's Yelle. I have no idea who she is. But the song "Je veux te voir" (My sight on you) I think... my french are so limited. =_= THIS SONG IS NOW EMBEDDED INTO MY MIND!!! It has this 80s feel to it and she sort of talk in her singing. Then I went on Youtube to see if there are a video for it. And now, the video is in my mind too. She is so 80s, and it's so cool! I'm now waiting for this CD to arrive from amazon.

I think 80s is really making a come back. I think I need to look for more 80 feel clothings.

Click the title to Yelle's offical site and the youtube link is here:

*Je veux te voir actually means "I want to see you" SEE, my french suck...

點解會咁?(Why it's like this?)

There's this negative karma energy going on currently. It's like putting people against each other in order to achieve a goal. I wouldn't call it back stabbing but it's not that much better. It's more like lies and make up stuffs and actually believing it to be true by some people.

Ego is such a scary thing. People die defending it. They just couldn't take the fact that sometime they could be wrong and changes are actually good. "You can't really stay inside your comfort zone forever". I actually got this saying from the person that is not leaving his comfort zone now. He always needed to go back to something he knows and won't accept the fact that there are different ways of doing the same thing. Not just his way. (I'm think I'm like rambling again)

Sometime I feel that I compromise myself abit too much and not really stand up to what I really wanted. I think I just hated confrontation. I've been to into a couple of them, but seems there is a feel of bitterness after it. I guess it's only human. And those that said "I love to have a good argument" are people who can't lose and have to have it their way. They are just trying to justify the fact that they can't accept different thinking by saying that argument is good. (Just my observations). hehehehe

Sugar coating stuffs is good. Who ever say it isn't and that just speak bluntly are so off! They said that because they don't know the art of communication. It's so easy to just be blunt and then ends it with "Please don't take it personality". That is so wrong, unless that person is professional to the extreme and have no feeling, there's absolutely NO WAY that they won't feel bad. There are always way to say the same thing nicely and make it more like a suggestion. Makes the other more open and less defensive and you actually get your point across.

When you are rude, even if you are right, the person is offended. Just because you are right, it doesn't mean you can be all rude and an asshole about it. Cos one day, you will make mistake and it's going to come back to you. I've been the mistake one, and also the right one. There's no need to take it to heart and make the others miserable. I'm still trying my best to not be an asshole sometime. Whenever I feel I'm becoming one, I think to myself "It's just a job, people make mistake, and I don't have to take this after 6" and repeat it till I lost my concentration. hehehee. But, if it's on a personal level (nothing job related), then I will hate you for life. And by hating, I mean like not talking to you, or won't rescue you if you are hanging off a cliff or something. (Actually I think I would, but after I saved you, I will still not talk to you). wkakakaka

You give out honey, you gets candy back. You give sour, you get sour~ Karma people!

*I love this puggy coin purse. It sugar coats all the 10/20/50 cents that are useless and evil!

戀人末滿 (Not yet a lover)

4 days holiday in Hong Kong and it's time for me to really clean up. My home is pretty clean as it is, but I wanted to throw away the broken IKEA bookshelf which is just a couple months old... sigh. And also that shoe cabinets in the middle of the house. I was moving it and it cracked. Now I dare not touch it, worry it will collapse. I went ahead and like totally throw aways hundreds (well, actually like 150ish) magazines out the door. I sort of miss it, but then if I havn't flip them for like 2 yrs, I guess it's pretty useless.

So now, the plan is to buy magazine, and throw them out in 6 mths time. I don't wanted to end up like some people who just keep everythings and never use them. WASTE space! It might not be that environmentally friendly though, but I did recycle the magazines, so I gain some Karma there. hee hee.

Going through old stuffs and throwing them away is good, cos I ended up finding ALOT of old photographs (dated to 2001! whahahaha, not that old I guess). I want to burn them cos I look pretty bad in them. And also, I found some old songs from that era too. My college years! Currently, my favorite is "戀人末滿" Meaning "We're pass friend, but we ain't lover yet". It's done by Taiwain girl pop group "S.H.E.". Don't even try to find their photo with google image. I tried, and the images that pop up are nude transvesities for some reason >_< hehehehehe.

Oh! do check up my imeem thing at the right, I will try my best to upload songs that I'm currently listening to. This 戀人末滿 will so be in there.

得來不易

I'm totally stress about this. I used to have my "On my third cup of coffee" back in 2001 where I actually upload new html page of text and upload via FTP! OMG! I'm like totally blogging back in 2001! Hahhaa, actually back then, in that "blog", it's basically about my days working in a national (later become international since I saw one in Dubai) coffee chain in Toronto. I come up with names for different regulars. I try my best to recall them:

Fresh pot bitch: This woman basically comes in and always said the coffee is not fresh! Even though I just changed it a minute ago. I remember one time I was changing the pot. And she came in. The old pot is behind me cos I didn't have time to put it away. After I pour her the coffee, she was like this is not fresh. (Cos i think she saw a pot behind me and asume that that is the fresh one). So I replaced it with the old one. Pour, and a happy customer.

Lancome lady: She works at the Lancome counter at "The Bay" department store. Come in always order those chillier coffee thing.

Beavis and Butthead: These two lovely ladies comes in always together with their baby. Their purpose in life is to prepare me with high EQ in my future careers. They come in; ask what we have. Then they will order the one that is not on brew. But we have this stupid "perfect cup" policy at the store, so we need to grind the bean, just to make them one cup of coffee. It's like total customer satifaction! But tell that to the 10 people waiting in line for 10 minute.
One time they come in during Christmas seasons and again order the "perfect cup". My boss tell them we are out of that bean... hahahahahha

That's all I remember. I think the site that host it is actually gone and never to be seen again. It was a fun time of my life, but I didn't really treasure it. So people, archive!

*The photo contain my title 得來不易 meaning "Things don't come easy". ""... and yes, I know my finger looks like a wee wee on him. That's the point! hahahah" ^_^

Lately... I've been lazy

Haven't updated my blog for awhile, I promise, I will do more update more often. Even if it means just random stuffs that just happened to me. During the last couple of months, ALOT have changes mainly dealing with works, money, and just – life. But then if you ask if they are major changes? I wouldn't said so. But just stuffs I've dealt with in the past, so I'm like totally fine this time around. Aging does have it's benefit. hee hee.

I realized that I really really love buying CDs, I tried to cut down on the cost of it by going 2nd hand, but then, with that you need to try it out w/ you luck to see if you can find it. And HK is such a bad place for 2nd hand stuff. I guess if I do more auction at yahoo or ebay, I might get better result. But then I hate those kind of stuff.

It's sort of late do a New Year resolution, but here's go. I will try to become more active with Art and culture stuff and will try to do more blogging on those instead. Like HK needs arts! I might be materialistic but hey, I do need my Art and culture sometime too! kekkeeke

*The photos have nothing to do with this blog, but I just love the blue hue of it.
