Today is a holiday in Hong Kong, so I had this trip to two museums. The first one in Tuen Wan (End of Kowloon), but the place is close today!!! ( I didn't check their operating time) so that was a fast one. I then headed toward Tsim Sha Tsui to a centralize area of museums in HK. In it, is the cultural centre, the space and the art museums.
I went to the Art one. It's quite typical stuffs show-casting gold, jade, some chinese calligraphies (which are superb~ ^_^ ) and also some paintings by westerners during the beginning of Hong Kong. The way they depict Hong Kong is quite different then the way I'm told in the family. I guess it's because it's told in another cultural perspective and also the lifestyle they are in. However many of the paintings are lost when the Japanese invaded HK. So now, the hunt is ON!!!
Another treat is that there's this exhibition on Hong Kong's homeless(es). It have stories and photos of where are they now. And very happy to find out that many actually have their home now (tiny but still a home). From the many stories there, many actually live on the street cos of their pride. Very ironic actually because to avoid family that you fail, you go on living on the street. Anyway, so my observation is correct! I've been telling people that HK have less 'beggers' than when I was young.
After all this, I went to have dinner, it's still abit hard and uncomfortable to have dinner alone (unless it's fastfood chain) but then, i'm told that once you get used to it, its' one of the best experience you can get. I hope it's true. Cos I'm planning to go on a trip all alone. I'm sort of excited about this, cos I never really been on a trip alone where there is no friend or travel buddy. (except Dubai, but then that's a business trip). So my first destination is going to be Macau! haha, follow by Kyoto. Wish me luck!
